      The aim this study was to explore the associations between self-regulation, perceived stress, alcohol consumption, and emotional well-being (EWB) among university students. At the baseline (T1), 3045 first year university students and at a one-year follow-up (T2) 860 students (22.5%CZ, 21.7%Hungary, 28.2%Lithuania, 27.5%SR; 73.5% females, mean age=20.84, SD=3.64) participated in an online survey. A linear regression model explained 44% of the variance in EWBT2. The increase in alcohol consumption was positively associated with EWBT2, but the increase in the reduction of alcohol consumption was associated with an increase of the discrepancy in EWB for students with a higher level of self-regulation. The reduction in stress was positively associated with EWBT2. The results of this study support the importance of the development of self-regulation, coping with stress in relation to the development of EWB as well as the prevention of specific patterns of alcohol consumption among students.       Cieľom štúdie bolo skúmať vzťah medzi sebareguláciou, zmenami v percepcii stresu, konzumácii alkoholu a emocionálnou pohodou (EWB) vysokoškolákov. Prvej vlnyT1 zberu dát sa zúčastnilo 3045 vysokoškolákov1.rok štúdia zo štyroch krajín, druhej vlnyT2 s odstupom 1 roka 860 vysokoškolákov (73,5 % žien, priemerný vek 20,84, SD=3,64; 27,5 %SR, 21,7 %MR 28,2 %LI, 22,5 %CZ). Model lineárnej regresie vysvetľoval 44 % variancie EWBT2. Nárast konzumácie alkoholu mal pozitívny vzťah k EWBT2, avšak s nárastom miery redukcie konzumácie alkoholu narastal rozdiel v emocionálnej pohode v prospech vysokoškolákov s vyššou mierou sebaregulácie. Redukcia stresu bola v pozitívnom vzťahu k EWBT2. Výsledky štúdie poukazujú na význam rozvoja sebaregulácie, stratégií zvládania stresu v podpore EWB vysokoškolákov a zároveň naznačujú dôležitosť prevencie pre vysokoškolákov, ktorí sa vyznačujú špecifickým rizikovým vzorcom konzumácie alkoholu.
