    • Abstract:
Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor among women, and its incidence is second only to cervical cancer in China. The search for natural products with antitumor activity is a potentially appealing strategy for the treatment of breast cancer. Multiple studies have shown that extracts of Periplaneta americana exhibit antitumor activities. However, there is no study on the effect of P. americana extracts on breast cancer. We have shown here for the first time that the extracts of P. americana inhibit survival of MCF-7 breast cancer cells via interference with MAPK/ERK signaling pathway. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
