    • Abstract:
The current study was designed to examine percent correct scores and confidence levels on the knowledge of eating disorders. The participants were 56 New England NCAA Division III female team sport coaches. The study was conducted with the use of the Five Domains of Eating Disorders: A Survey for Collegiate Coaches (Turk, 1995). Through the use of Pearson product moment correlation coefficients, a relationship between the years of coaching experience and the percent correct scores in domain three was found to be significantly positive (r=.31, p<.05). Independent groups t-tests were computed to determine gender differences in percent correct scores and mean confidence levels. A significant difference (p<.05) was found among the mean confidence levels in domain two, indicating female coaches to have a higher confidence level than male coaches. Other significant positive relationships were found in domains two and four among the percent correct scores and the corresponding mean confidence levels. Obtaining a larger sample size might have helped to increase the number of significant results. However, exploring other factors such as specific sport coached and education level may prove to be more relevant.
